Literature Text

Wander about told to believe in Jesus saying life would be better.
Meander about for no real reason and follow orders to the letter.
They try to educate but never inspire the dreams of the child
Dreams that form reality better than real set to the wild.
Oh can’t you hear them calling, and oh how they don’t know?
Oh how the dreams of the world shall some day set it aglow.

Leave this world of needless suffering for the sake of needless suffering.

We invented something we’re all tied to, the mighty dollar sign
Its genesis starting to mark what seems to be our great decline.
Science was a dead end, religion was a farce, and they both gave us nothing
Evidence and faith nothing but forgotten meanings, as we were hung up by string.
Oh can’t you hear him crying, as he sits awake at night?
That person by his side gone and now things seem less bright.

Leave this world of needless cruelty for the sake of needless cruelty.

We vote for power content never to have it in our own hands
Spreading the gospel of our righteous cause as we watch them butcher the land.
They’ve stolen minds just to start the process over and over again
As others burn for a god they didn’t want they just shout “amen”.
Oh can’t your hear her screaming, there’s so much she wants to see?
She gets no answers and is instead left with nothing but her own debris.

Oh can’t you hear them dying? Their blood is on your hands.
Now they slowly drift away, fading back into the sands.

Leave this world of ours behind, for it’s grown far too weak.

Oh can’t you hear them talking, begging to be free from sin?
Oh their world is rotting, and that’s the way it’s always been.
More sorrowful notes played this one across my mind, though I stuffed that aside to write something not of my own suffering, but rather that of others. Like I would know anything about it...
